The first motorcycle was made by German engineer Gottlieb Daimler in 1885 when he installed an engine with perfect combustion on a wooden bicycle he designed himself. In 1890 he succeeded in developing an internal combustion engine, and in 1883 Daimler invented a gasoline-powered engine, and patented a four-stroke engine. Gottlieb Daimler created the first motorcycle engined in gasoline in 1885, an engine attached to a wooden bicycle. That marked a moment in history when the development of a decent dual gasoline engine and a modern bicycle. The motorcycle they designed is carrying a technology that is still used today, such as Twin Cylinder, 4 valve, water cooler and 1,500 cc engine.

In designing this motorcycle Daimler installed a small four-stroke engine on a wooden bicycle. He put a machine in the middle (between the front and rear wheels) and then connected to the chain to the rear wheels. Then the wooden bicycle was given the name Reitwagen (German, which means a ride car), even though the vehicle was actually a motorized bicycle. Triumph 1902

The Triumph brand has long been known as a motorcycle from England. Since it was first produced in 1902, then this motorbike was circulating and famous throughout the world. Triumph is made with a 2.25 bph one-cylinder engine (brake house power), with an automatic inlet valve, and a coil ignition system imported from Belgium then assembled on a frame made by a British engineer, Maurice jonathan Schulte.

Then in 1904, Triumph began manufacturing with homemade machines designed by Schulte and his partner Charles Hathaway. The engine is made with a capacity of 300cc which produces power of 3 bpd. The resulting speed at that time ranged from 45-60 km / hour.

Harley Davidson 1903

An engineer named William Sylvester Harley graduated from the universities of Wisconsin and Arthur Davidson were two best friends who were very influential in Harley motorcycles, because they were phenomenal motor designers throughout the history of the name.

The initial formation of the HD motorbike (harley davidson) began in 1901. Where at that time the harley and davidson at that time were aged 21 and 20 years. The idea to make a bicycle powered engine blaze when Harley worked as a draftsman and Davidson as a pattern designer at a bicycle factory in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

In 1903 Harley and Davidson built a motorcycle repair shop named “Harley Davidson Motor Co.”. From this workshop a single-cylinder motor with the power of a black 3DK is created and named HD DeDion.

Because it was worn out too quickly, the new Davidson frame was then designed. In 1904 the trend of motorbikes with gasoline began to be introduced by Davidson and the results were astounding, the public was so interested even today. Two motors at the same time they created. In 1905, they then succeeded in making 11 units of motorcycles, in 1908 it increased to 154 motorcycles. Vespa 1945

Vespa motorbike is an Italian motorcycle, the first Vespa known as the 98cc Vespa. Then Vespa are also often referred to as iron bees. This Italian motorcycle assembly turned out to be in production only at the end of the World War II. At that time the economic system in Italy was indeed in a slump (crisis)

Then an Italian man, Enrico Piaggio, took over a company owned by his father Rinaldi Paggio. His father’s company originally produced equipment such as ships, trains and then switched to airplanes.

Then because of the economic crisis, Enrico Piaggio finally turned around to design cheap transportation. Inspired by aircraft technology, with an aluminum body like an airplane and adapted from the wheels of the aircraft as well, assisted by Corradino D’Ascanio Enrico, the mono shock suspension construction facilitates this 150 cc transportation tool when changing tires. In 1945 Vespa was first created. While the name itself is taken from the word ‘west’, which means an animal stinging or bee. Therefore a motorcycle made by Enrico Piaggio is called an iron bee.

Honda 1946

After Vespa was introduced all over the world and used a lot of people, then a Japanese citizen named Soichiro Honda. He was born on November 17, 1906 in Hamamatsu, Shizuoko, Japan. Well, what you should know about this Honda motorbike that you often use is the possession of an unlicensed industrialist alias dropped out of college.

Although it has been as successful today, but that does not mean he has never experienced failure. Previously, he also worked at the Hart Shokai company workshop in 1922 when he was 15 years old. Armed with the experience of helping with his father’s business as a bicycle repairer, the young Honda was so deft and accomplished in the workshop of his new workplace.

He also became the originator of metal wheels in cars that were originally made of wood. And in 1937 Honda patented the work and was even exported throughout the world. And this is where Honda began to open up its own heavy industry which was named Tokai Seiki Heavy Industry.

The workshop made piston ring devices. But because it did not meet the standards, the device was rejected by Toyota. But Honda never gave up hope with failure that happened to him. He then got up and started studying again to gain knowledge in perfecting the creation of his device.

From its perseverance in learning again can make a development in the knowledge it has, Toyota also accepts its replacement. But again, trials come, and one of them is the earthquake and the bombing of Hiroshima, which caused his factory to collapse.

From this incident, Honda began to pioneer again from the beginning and until finally in 1947 became a turning point for Honda’s success. Honda founded a factory, and he created a motorcycle. Then with a good and smart marketing strategy, the motor of his creation is able to compete on an export basis with Harley Davidson and Triumph.

1952 Suzuki

The maker of Suzuki motorcycles is Michio Suzuki, a Doctor who graduated from Illions USA. His career journey began as a businessman making looms which then went bankrupt during World War II and turned to motorcycles.

The first motorbike he created was Power free, a motor powered by an engine that allowed the driver to mop up. 35 cc capacity, single cylinder, 2 strokes with 2 system sprockets. After that, another motorbike was born, namely Diamond free with 60 cc engine and in 1954 Colleda 90 cc engine with single cylinder and 4 stroke could produce 6000 units in a month.

Suzuki Motor Co. Ltd. type Ltd. include Colleda 125 cc 4 stroke, Colleda ST 125 cc, T500 in 1967, GT500 in 1977, GS750, GT750, GS 1000 in 1978, GSX 1000 1980, GSX 1100 katana in 1982, GSX R750, GSX R1100, GSX 1300R. Kawasaki 1954

This motorbike does already have a big name at the moment and behind it all cannot be separated from those who have, he is Shozo Kawasaki.

Kawasaki itself was originally a factory engaged in ships, ship assembly, locomotives, aircraft, motorcycles, missiles, submarines, super tankers. But in World War II it turned into a steelmaking site under the auspices of Kawasaki Steel Corp. In 1949, due to its cooperation with BMW in the field of aircraft, Kawasaki first started producing two-wheeled motorcycles by adopting German BMW technology.

And for the first time a motor with 2 stroke 60 cc was born, then 4 stroke 150 cc and 250 cc. Please note, Kawasaki is considered the “King of Four Strokes” by Honda, Yamaha and Suzuki. Yamaha 1955

From there he continued to create a variety of motorcycles, such as in 1957 Yamaha created the Twin Cylinder YDI 175 cc. From there he was able to win the Mount Asama Race in Japan with a total production of 15,811 units. It arrived in 1959, where he released the first YDSI sport motorbike, with a 5-speed gearbox.

His success has increased, because in 1960 the production of his sport motorbike increased 6-fold and is known as the best 2-stroke motorbike manufacturer for the YDS250 cc and YRI 350 cc variants with the application of the autolube system for automatic oil mixing.
